Job Description

We require the services of experienced and qualified Control Room Operators for our new state of the art Control Room at our Head Office in Eikenhof south of Alberton.

ROLE:
To monitor, identify, document and investigate any inconsistencies that pertain to the safety and security of employees, facilities, property, and any other company assets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily control room duties and responsibilities with a high level of integrity and efficiency.
Operate within all company and industry regulations to ensure compliance to legislation.
Monitor vehicles and staff movement via tracking system.
Monitor CCTV and report any unusual activity to the relevant Manager on duty.
Keep record of all incidents and report them to the relevant Manager on duty.
Respond promptly to radio checks and keep accurate records of all communication.
Record all communication, events, reports, complaints, investigations and operations in the OB.
Co-ordinate activities between emergency services, staff and management in the event of an emergency.
Monitor and report alarm activation and dispatch Response Officers promptly.
Assist relevant managers to ensure that all sites are fully staffed for each shift.
Manage the main switchboard afterhours, answer and direct calls promptly and effectively.
Communicate clearly with all relevant stakeholders telephonically, on email and on radio’s.
Be alert and attentive to identify suspicious or irregular movement of staff of company vehicles.
Perform a variety of administrative duties including handing out of equipment and or firearms.
Monitor external security situations and provide the best routes and road status to company drivers.
Identify and recommend improved systems or procedures to maximize our security operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Grade 12
Control Room Operator training certification
Valid Grade C PSIRA Certification
Valid handgun and shotgun competency
Business purposes
Valid Regulation 21
Preference will be given to candidates with a valid NKP
Excellent knowledge of security systems, policies and procedures
Experience in response and emergency planning
Ability to report clearly, effectively and accurate information under pressure
No less than 5 years Control Room experience with a reputable security company
Fully computer literate and proficient in MS Office
Experience with alarm monitoring and vehicle monitoring systems
Fluent in English – read / write / speak
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to speak clearly and provide detailed information effectively
Attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Co-ordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously daily and during emergency situations
Excellent planning and organizing skills
Knowledge of operating a variety radio’s and breathalyzers
