POSITION:

Control Room Operator

CHARACTERISTICS/TRAITS REQUIRED:

Attributes must include honesty, reliability, and excellent communication skills.  Must be fluent in English. Mental toughness.  Motivated. Attention to detail. Communication skills. Problem Solving skills.

DUTIES:

Monitor alarms
Handle inbound and outbound emergencies
Monitor site activities through CCTV or other surveillance systems
Review video footage and direct the team or armed response if necessary in response to trip wire and intrusion alarms
Ensure all cameras are functioning at 100% capacity
Check video resolution and CCTV operating system functionality
Verify the recording and retrieval system is operational
Track and respond to live incidents.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of 2 years’ alarm monitoring experience.  Good performance record.
KNOWLEDGE & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
At least 18 years of age

Matric

Valid PSIRA Registration

Minimum Grade E

Flexibility/availability for shift work (day and night)

Clean Criminal Record

Criminal Record Vetting Procedure

Pre-employment Polygraph

Advantageous:  Experience in off-site CCTV monitoring in an armed response/monitoring business
