Wireman

Job Description

We are currently on the look out for a Wireman to join our technical department.

Duties and Responsibilities

·       Assist the technical team with alarm and CCTV installations and maintenance.

·       Fault, service, repairs, and installation on all makes/models of alarm panels.

·       General electronics

·       Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals for subsequent soldering.

·       Installation of bosal and conduit tuning inclusive of thread conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets, using hand tools.

·       Install controllers and panels, using power drills, drill presses, taps, saws and punches.

·       String transmission lines or cables through ducts or conduits, under the ground, through equipment, or to towers.

·       Installation of sign boards

·       Clean work area and wash parts.

·       Raise, lower, or position equipment, tools, and materials, using hoist, hand line, or block and tackle.

·       Dig trenches or holes for installation of conduit or supports.

·       Ensure that all work is neat and tidy, and no damage is done at the client’s property.

·      Break up concrete, using air hammer, to facilitate installation, construction, or repair of equipment.

·       Solder electrical connections, using soldering iron.

·       Trim trees and clear undergrowth along right-of-way as well as areas close to CCTV equipment

·       Trace out short circuits in wiring, using multi meter.

·       Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools.

·       Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.

·      Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools.

·       Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.

·       Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment, using hand tools.

·       Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work sites.

·       Installation of Alarms Panels, Beams, Electrical fencing, Electrical gate motors and CCTV cameras

·       Installation, Maintenance, Repairs and Service

·       Installation, Maintenance, Repairs and Service of customers CCTV cameras and network

·       Ensure clients quotations are completed timeously (by end of day).

·       Acknowledge & respond to all emails are responded to timeously.

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience as a wireman in the security industry
• Wireman License (advantageous)
• PSIRA – Grade C
• Valid Drivers License
• Criminal clear
